I will never forget this experience, and from the bottom of my heart I want to thank everyone who came to August Wilson for the love and support you have shown me, the team and our amazing crew. The people I have enjoyed reviving Funny Girl with every night, both on and off stage, are all talented and exceptional Significantly and I hope you will continue to join them on Henry Street after my departure on July 31.”

Feldstein did not explain how the production was taken “in a different direction”.

Production deadline has arrived.

Her replacement has not been announced, but rumors have been circulating for weeks that producers are considering Lea Michele as a replacement, possibly along with Feldstein’s replacement Julie Pinko. The producers did not confirm the speculation.

Production tweeted tonight that new casting announcements will be out on Monday at 1 PM ET.

Feldstein has missed a growing number of shows in recent weeks, including yesterday’s concert. Last month, she missed a series of shows due to a positive Covid test.

Initially, when the show opened (to mixed reviews) on April 24, Feldstein was expected to remain with production until the end of the year, but producers announced last month that she and co-star Jane Lynch would be leaving the show on September 25.
