Despite repeated Russian denials, they were responsible for just about anything Massacre in Buchaoutside Kyiv, Russian military vehicles and troops are seen on Bucha Street near civilian corpses, new drone video obtained by CNN exclusively.
CNN geo-located and confirmed the authenticity of the videos, which were taken by a drone on March 12 and 13.
A Russian military vehicle is seen sitting at an intersection in a video clip from March 13. CNN identified three objects in the video – just down the street from the military vehicle – that are the same bodies seen in the video from April 1 and satellite images taken by Maxar Technologies on March 18.
An additional drone video from March 13 shows another Russian military vehicle moving down the street toward the corpses.
In the March 12 video, a number of Russian soldiers are seen around a military vehicle parked outside a house near the bodies. It is unclear what they are doing at home.
CNN asked the Russian Defense Ministry for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
International outrage: Russian officials – President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov – have repeatedly claimed that videos and satellite images showing the bodies in Bucha are fake.
This video is the first evidence emerging from Bucha showing Russian vehicles and troops operating in the street, where the bodies were found by Ukrainian forces when they retook the city on 1 April.
The images that emerged from Bosha after the withdrawal of the Russian forces provoked enormous outrage from the international community. It has also prompted some leaders, including US President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron, to describe the Busha atrocities as war crimes.
