Cyberpunk 2077 now supports DLSS3
NVIDIA DLSS 3 with Frame Generation technology is now available in Cyberpunk 2077.
It took CD Projekt and NVIDIA nearly 3 months to enable DLSS3 in Cyberpunk 2077. The game just received a patch that finally enables the upgrade technology.
A 6GB patch has been released on supported PC platforms and gamers can now enable DLSS3 as long as they are using an RTX 4090, 4080 or 4070 Ti GPU. DLSS3 uses Frame Generation technology that is only supported in NVIDIA’s Ada architecture.
Most RTX 4090 reviewers were using a pre-release copy of the game to showcase the benefits of DLSS3 in such a challenging title. However, perhaps no one expected that it would take so much time to add technology to the game.
NVIDIA recently announced DLSS3 support for 6 new games, all of which will be updated within the next few weeks: Dying Light 2 Stay Human, HITMAN 3, Dakar Desert Rally, Deliver Us Mars, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, and PERISH. Moreover, NVIDIA confirms that DLSS3 will also be added to games like Atomic Heart, ILL SPACE, THRONE AND LIBERTY, The Day Before, Tower of Fantasy, Warhaven, and Witchfire.
In all, NVIDIA has 50 games and apps confirmed to support DLSS3 at some point and over 250 games with DLSS2 support. However, enabling DLSS3 is definitely slower than many might have expected, and Cyberpunk 2077 is a good example of how complex it can be.
