A flight attendant gives birth to a passenger's baby on a Frontier Airlines flight

A passenger went into preterm labor on the flight from Denver (DEN) to Orlando (MCO), said the post, which was published May 17. Then host Diana Giraldo helped her get to the bathroom and helped her deliver the baby.

In a statement, Captain Chris Nye, who was piloting the plane, said the plane diverted to Pensacola Airport in Florida, and then continued on to Orlando after the mother and baby managed to land with the help of medical staff.

“The whole crew did a really great job,” Nye said in a comment posted to Frontier’s Facebook page.

“Dispatch also did a great job proposing the Pensacola airport and getting the gate and paramedics ready for us. It was such a good job, and I’m glad to see everyone working together to successfully have a newborn on a plane!”

Although the baby’s name and gender have not been publicly shared, Frontier revealed that the newborn’s middle name is Sky due to the unusual circumstances of his arrival in the world.

In May 2021, a woman went into labor on a flight from Salt Lake City to Honolulu. In this case, though, the flight attendant didn’t need help with the delivery—lucky coincidence, there was a doctor and three NICU nurses on board, They all jumped into action.

In fact, being born on an airplane can sometimes have fun perks.

A baby boy named Haven, who was born on a Cebu Pacific flight from Dubai to Manila, was born in 2016 million miles by Philippine Airlines. Although in little use so far, the airline said the miles can be shared with members of its family.
